George William Charles Miller, 83, of McCoy Road, Greeneville, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior early Wednesday morning. He was a long-time member of The Sanctuary Church in Greeneville, TN.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Elizabeth “Judy” June Miller; sisters: Bertha (Earl) Worley of Louisiana and Pat (George) Einswonger of Arizona; his children: Vicki (Wayne) Martin of Jefferson City, William George (Margaret) Miller of Aurora, IL, Deborah (Larry) Yarboro, Janie (John Jeff) Haire, Donna (Perry)Pearson, and Wendy (Johnny) Jackson, all of Greeneville; nine grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and special friends: Zahn and Carolyn McCaslin.
George was preceded in death by his parents: George Miller and Anna Evangelina Secor Souders; sisters: Lillian Carlson and Sandy Souders; and his brother: Eugene Souders.
George proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Stephens Adams in Aurora, IL, and worked at the Convenience Center in Greeneville for the past 16 years. He was known and loved by all that knew him and will be missed by many. George never met a stranger.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3pm-6pm at The Sanctuary Church, 210 Luther Drive, Greeneville. Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 6pm with Rev. Jeremy Carver officiating.
Interment will be at 11am Monday at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church Monday at 10:30am to go in procession to the cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Gavin Haire, Michael Miller, Shane Goode, Perry Pearson, Johnny Jackson, Jonathon Jackson, Eric Miller, and Stephan Michael Miller.
The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and Doctors at the V A Hospital and a special thanks to Dr Seema Goenka.
