He was a member of Solomon Lutheran Church.
Freddie served in the US Army from 1955-1956 in Korea as clean-up duty, and was an honorary member of St. James Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Chief for 9 years. He was an honorary member of the Nolichucky Ruritan.
He enjoyed participating in antique car shows.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 65 years, Kathleen Solomon; beloved grandchildren, Katelyn Solomon and husband Damien Windholz and Garrett Solomon of Sante Fe, TN; sister, Neddia Bolton; brother-in-law, Gene Myers; siblings-in-law, Billy and Lessie Winter; nephews, Tommy (Whitney) Winter of Greeneville, Rickie Sane of Greeneville, and Jeff Myers and David of Raleigh, NC; and niece, Cynthia (David) Bailey of Louden, TN; along with two fur babies Cooper and Piper of St. James. He is also survived by several cousins and many special friends.
Freddie is preceded in death by his son, Michael Solomon; his father and mother, Worley and Pauline Solomon; sister, Matilda Myers; and nephews, Randy Myers and Jimmy Winters.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-7pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow at 7pm in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel, officiated by Minister Sonya Solomon.
A graveside service will be held at St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery on Saturday at 10am. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.
