Fred Harold Ottinger of Caney Branch Community, born May 11, 1927, at age 96 years-old passed away October 14, 2023 at his home with his daughter by his side. Fred was a Seaman 1st Class in the Navy during WWII. He was also a lifelong dairy farmer in the Caney Branch Community. Fred was a loving, Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a devoted member of Loves Memorial Church and a respected member of the community.
Fred is survived by his sons, Rocky (Karen), Danny (Cathy), David (Melissa) and daughter, Sandy Jennings (Tommy), grandchildren, Kym Jordan, Andy Ottinger (Patricia), Cody Jennings, Miranda Cameron (Scott) and Hannah Tolliver (Matt). Also, Fred’s great-grandchildren were very important to him, Sadie Knowles, Layla Ottinger, Sarah Cameron, Parker Ottinger, Lillian Jordan Paul Cameron, Banks Ottinger Cheyenne Tolliver and Holden Tolliver and many nieces and nephews.
Fred is preceded in death, by his loving wife Vera (Easterly) Ottinger, his parents, Drew, and Elvie (Holt) Ottinger, sister Willie, and brother Wayne/Evelyn Ottinger.
The visitation will be held at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 18th, from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm. The funeral service will be at Loves Memorial Church, on Thursday, October 19th. Fred will lie in state at Loves Memorial from 10:00-11:00am and the funeral will begin at 11:00am.
The pallbearers are Rick Younce, Ted Clowers, Jim Easterly, John Ottinger, Phil Ottinger, Rusty Ottinger and Danny Ricker. The honorary pallbearers are Amedysis Hospice nurses and staff and Fred’s doctor.
The family is very appreciative to Loves Memorial for their prayers, support and love.
