He was a retired farmer and carpenter.
Mr. Bailey was a charter member of Limestone Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years: Ruby Wyatt Bailey; a son and daughter-in-law: Harold Lee and Betty Bailey of Jonesborough; a daughter and son-in-law: Anna B. and Jerry T. Broyles of Chuckey; a granddaughter: Teresa Haney of Kingsport; two grandsons: Keith Broyles and wife, Melissa, of Chuckey, Harold Bailey, Jr. of Jonesborough; great grandchildren: Jackie Bailey, Kendell Broyles and wife, Demi, all of Jonesborough, Alyssa Broyles of Chuckey; a great great granddaughter: Avery Broyles; sister-in-law Jackie Bailey of Jonesborough; several nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Daniel C. and Martha Jane Bailey and was preceded in death by
five sisters: Nora Boone, Emma Edwards, Edith Ramey, Bertha Kegley and Grace Aiken; four
brothers: Avery, Garfield, Floyd and Estel Bailey.
The funeral service will be held at 7 pm Sunday, December 8, 2013, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel.
Rev. Alfred Cutshall, Rev. John Buchman and Rev. Tim Roach will officiate.
Interment will be 11 am Monday, at Philadelphia Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Keith Broyles, Harold Bailey, Jr., Kendell Broyles, Walter Painter, Rick Mull, Jackie Painter and Bobby Hensley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Kenneth Nickles, the members of Limestone FWB Church.
The family will receive friends 4-7 pm Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:45 am Monday at the cemetery for the committal service.
