She was retired from General Electric in Morristown. She was a member of Jackson’s Chapel. She loved kids, reading and puzzle books.
She is survived by two daughters: Rebecca Hurst of Midway and Joyce and (Mike) Hawkins of Mosheim; granddaughters: Amanda (Matt) Hughes of Afton, Courtney (Dustin) Hayes of Chuckey, Brittney (Will) McGuire of Baileyton: great granddaughters: Mattison Hughes of Afton, Mattilyn Hughes of Afton, Natile Gregg of Baileyton, Mikenlee McGuire of Baileyton; sister: Patsy Morrison of Mosheim; brother: Dwayne Morrison of Afton; brother-in-law: Ken (Reta) Carter of Bybee; sisters-in-law: Idell Burnett of Mosheim and Shirley (Loyd) Golden; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Tillman Isaac Morrison and Nola Meg Reaves; a husband: Tom Carter; son-in-law: Mike Hurst; three brothers: Otis Morrison, Cecil Morrison and Clyde Morrison; two sisters: Mary Crane and Norma Travis.
Pallbearers will be: Matt Hughes, Mike Hawkins, Will McGuire, Dustin Haynes, Larry Travis, and William Travis.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Smokey Mtn. Hospice, Dr. Dustin Clark, Dr. Benjamin Bailey, Jackson’s Chapel and McMillian Church. A special thanks to Sonja and Karen from Smokey Mtn. Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm on Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The service will be held at 3:00 pm in the chapel. with Rev. Jeff Blake and Rev. Chris Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson’s Chapel.
