She retired from the office of Dr. Nathan P. Horner and the late Dr. Hal Henard.
Mrs. Wilhoit was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was also a member of the Beacon Light Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Debra and Barry Bair of Jonesborough; son and daughter-in-law: Dean and Kathryn Wilhoit of Johnson City; grandchildren: Mary Blair of Nashville, Laura Blair of Columbia, South Carolina, John and Renee Wilhoit of Dallas, North Carolina,and Stacie and Matthew Lane of Kingsport; great grandchildren: Graycie and Wyatt Lane of Kingsport, Kaylee Wilhoit of Johnson City, and Brody Wilhoit of Dallas, North Carolina; brother-in-law: Dr. N.H. Dowden of Louisville, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews including a special niece and her spouse: Alice and Bill Davis of Louisville, Kentucky.
She was the daughter of the late Charles Pickering and Mae Greenlee Pickering Bible and was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Dean Wilhoit, and a sister, Hilda Dowden.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the funeral service at 8:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Rev. David Brannock will officiate.
Interment will follow at 11:00 am Friday at Oak Grove Cemetery. It is requested that family and friends meet at Oak Grove Cemetery at 11 am Friday for the committal service.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of NHC Healthcare and MSHA Hospice for the excellent care given.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 524 Tusculum Blvd, Greeneville, TN 37745.
