The family states he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His grandbabies were his world.
Dearl was retired from Town of Greeneville Public Works and he was a lifelong farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Darnell; daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Brad King, Lena Waddell, and Scottie Waddell; grandchildren, Kaylee King, Abbey King, Ashlynn King, Benjamin Waddell, and Lillian Waddell; brothers and sisters and spouses, Melvin Darnell, Elizabeth and Johnny Reaves, Floyd and Jan Darnell, Wayne Darnell, Charlotte Livingston, Karen Darnell, Lynn Massey and Tammy and Jerry Huff as well as a sister-in-law, Sherry Crum; also surviving are several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Dearl was preceded in death by his parents, Vance and Vesta Darnell; brothers and sisters, Edward Darnell, Rex Darnell and Jannie Massey; a sister-in-law, Jean Darnell; brothers-in-law, Johnny Hensley and Donnie Livingston.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be on Thursday at 2 pm in the chapel of Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Ricker and Rev. Tommy Melton officiating. Interment will follow in River Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers are John Darnell, Junior Darnell, Steve Darnell, Mark Darnell, Keith Reaves, Frankie Darnell, Chris Pursley, Tanner Pursley and Christina Massey.
