She was a retired teacher after 30 years of service with the Washington County Department of Education.
Mrs. Broyles was a member of Philadelphia Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she was also involved with the Cumberland Presbyterian Women.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years: Jerry K. Broyles; two sons: David Broyles and Brian Broyles of Chuckey; daughter and son-in-law: Kelli and Mark Grenti of Jonesborough; five grandchildren (who know her as “Nana”): Weston Brown, Austin Brown, Gracie Brown, Emma Broyles, and Asher Campbell; brother: Earnest Richards of Summerville, South Carolina; sister: Helen Cox of Powell, Tennessee; sister-in-law: Janice Treadway of Chuckey; four nieces and nephews: Betsy Richards McTier and Franklin Richards II of Valdosta, Georgia, Doug Treadway of Greeneville, and Temple Treadway Rambo of Chuckey; and special friends: Whitney Pate, Haley Malone and Katie Blevins.
She was the daughter of the late James S. and Rose Laws and was preceded in death by a brother: Franklin J. Richards; and a brother-in-law: Kyle Treadway.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday at Philadelphia Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Buchanan and Rev. Rex Brown officiating. The body will be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes preceding the service.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Seth Bailey, Dylan Bailey, Mark Grenti, Doug Treadway, Tim Hammer, Ralph Greene, Larry Dayton, and Everette Hale.
