

He was a former employee of Greeneville Industries (Shipbuilders) and a former member of East Tennessee Antique Tractor Assciation.
Survivors include his wife: Virginia Gunter Darnell; one daughter: Sandra Darnell and companion Brennan Ricker; one son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Julie Darnell; mother: Bertha Darnell; two sisters: Doris and Lyle Parton, Charlotte Darnell and
companion George Price; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Lester and Elaine Darnell, Ray and Tina Darnell; two nephews: David Darnell and Wife Kimberly and Brandon Darnell; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; a special friend: Butch Kiser.
He was preceded in death by his father: Earl Darnell.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Tommy Melton and Rev. Jim Fillers officiating. Interment will follow at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be David Darnell, Brandon Darnell, Billy Stamper, Willie Stamper, Paul Gunter, Billy Darnell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lyle Parton, Butch Kiser, George Price, Ashley Wilhoit, Liz Greene, Tony Darnell, Nurses and Staff of Caris Health Care, and his caregiver Cindy Taliaferro.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
