He had worked in construction.
Mr. Ricker was of the Baptist tradition of faith.
He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of VFW Post # 1990.
Survivors include his wife: Dolores Jeffery Ricker; daughters: Faye Ricker and Maye Morrell, both of Cleveland, Ohio, Kathy D. Gray of Greeneville; a son: Terry Carl Ricker of Virginia; a stepdaughter: Doris Dunigan of Cleveland, Ohio; several grandchildren; stepgrandchildren; great grandchildren; step great grandchildren; four brothers: Grover C. Ricker, Ralph H. Ricker, Jimmy L. Ricker, and James Rex Ricker, all of Greeneville; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Shelby Jean and Billy Wilhoit, June and James Fellers, Rebecca and Bill Davis; and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Madison County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Bee and Cora Gosnell Ricker, and was preceded in death by his stepmother, Ruth Gates Ricker; his first wife, Viola J. Cornwell Ricker; a daughter, Patricia Ann Ricker; brothers, Arlie and Edward Ricker; and sisters, Dorothy Ricker and Margaret Ricker.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Buster Shelton will officiate. Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Joe Morrell, Johnny Morrell, Anthony Dejesus, Jeremy Alvelo, Matthew Ricker, and Brian Wilhoit.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Phillip Thwing, staff of Amedisys Hospice Services, and John Paul Alvelo.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
