He attended First Church of God.
Mr. King retired from Magnavox after 36 ½ years.
He was very active in the Roby Center and was part of the Hardee’s Breakfast Club.
He loved his family, farm, and people. He never met a stranger and was known for his positive attitude. When asked how he was doing, he always replied, “Living like a king.”
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Steven R. and Sue King; special grandsons: Matthew Steven King and Michael Shane and Melody Starr King; two special great granddaughters, who were his pride and joy: Leah King and Isabella King; brother: Phillip King; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Trula Dawson King; parents: Bruce Rankin King Sr. and Ollie Rice King; four brothers; one sister; and a special friend: Louise Rippetoe.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 5pm-7pm Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Buchanan and Rev. Tammy Greene officiating.
Interment will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at 12:30pm Tuesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Matthew King, Michael King, James Buchanan, Rev. John Buchanan, and Ronnie King.
Honorary pallbearers are his Hardee’s Breakfast Group, his Roby friends, and his Sunnyside neighbors.
