She was a homemaker. She was a member of Jesus Miracle Crusade International Ministry.

She is survived by a son, Marlin Lee Burkey, Jr. of Greeneville; a sister, Joan Schroer of Greeneville; a brother, Tommy Shipley of Kingsport; two grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Marlin Lee Burkey, Sr. and Edward Reed; her parents, Charlie and Lura Shipley; a son, Anthony Burkey; a sister, Violet Bailey; and a brother, Charles Shipley.

The family will receive friends 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will then take place at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Preacher Jim Newton will officiate. Family and friends will be pallbearers.
