Billy Hunt, 72, of Chuckey, passed away peacefully of a heart attack at his home Sunday morning. He was a good man, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was always willing to help friends who needed his help. He attended Miller’s Chapel Church where he was always willing to chip in to help whenever he was needed.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Malta Hunt; mother-in-law, Marilee Hurley; and a brother-in-law, Doug Davis.
Survivors are his wife of nearly 53 years, Mary Louise Hunt; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Chris Blake; grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Sam and Anna Blake. Other survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Sharon Hunt; a sister, LuAnn Davis; a brother-in-law, Ronnie Holt; a niece and nephews, Stephanie Hunt, Jason Hunt, Brandon Holt and Cody Holt; and several great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends, Frankie McAbee and Terry Randolph. His cat, KitKat, will miss him too.
Bill always loved driving and big trucks. He drove a school bus for Greene County schools for several years then started driving over the road, first for Builders Transport and then Magnavox. After a bout with illness, he operated his own business, US & G, hauling logs. He retired from driving for David Tipton Logging.
The family will receive friends from 2-4pm and 5-7pm on Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow at 7pm, officiated by Chris Blake, Rev. David Reece and Rev. Walter Moore.
Interment will be in River Hill Cemetery at 10am on Saturday. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9am to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers include Sam Blake, Frankie McAbee, Freddy Blake, Jason Hunt, Brandon Holt, Donald Vest, and Ryan Hunt. Honorary pallbearers will be friends from Miller’s Chapel Church.
