Barbara loved the Lord, her sons, and grandbabies most of all. She was a very supportive mom and Grandma and a very helpful lady with a true heart for service. She always thought of others’ needs and attended to those needs.
Barbara had an adventurous spirit while raising her sons – willing to ride in the mud and snow in the Jeep, and being the loudest/proudest fan at their sporting events and horse shows. Her home was always open to their many friends. Throughout her life, she always found joy in cooking/feeding family and friends. Barbara was a hard worker her entire life and taught her sons the importance of a good work ethic and responsibility. She maintained her home while operating the original Little Orange Market on the Asheville Highway which she and her husband, Jim Anderson, built and operated. In later years, she worked in manufacturing at Doehler Jarvis, Far Industries, MTD, Weavexx, and Huf.
Barbara’s love for fun was known by her enjoyment of travel, water skiing at the lake, music, dance, spending time with family, and in her later years, playing with her five grandbabies. Her love for her family was evident to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by husband, Jim Anderson; mom, Madeline Cobble Miller; dad, Winston “Red” Summey; and step-dad, James Miller.
