Mary, I am so sorry to learn of Alvin's passing. It seems like just yesterday you two were getting married. May you find comfort in your steadfast faith and love of our Lord.

Mary, I’m so sorry that you’ve lost Al. He was such a nice, kind man. He was certainly a friend to Ed. Ed had so much respect for Al. They were Vietnam  brothers.  I had the opportunity to talk to  Al a few times when we were both working at the VA. He was great at helping those veterans!

I know you’ll miss him. Your heart will hurt with an intensity that you’ve never experienced before. Please know that I love you and I’m here if you need to talk or express those truest thoughts and feelings. I love you sister.

Prayers to the family in this time of loss.
I worked for Al when I first joined the Guard in Supply. I couldn't have  asked for a better boss, he always treated me fair and just like a son. The fun times, laughter and jokes during work always outweighed any of the bad for sure. Lots of memories were when we sat and talked about military, life  and cutting up it was always an enjoyable time. Probably my funniest memory is when we went to summer camp and Al had us take a bed to the field that he had rigged up which for some reason weighed a ton, but the guys in the section were more than happy to somehow get it to the field in hopes and prayers that it would help with his snoring, which was insanely loud. But we were all saddened that our efforts didn't even phase controlling the snoring, LOL.  I will truly miss him as he was not only a great person to work for that would have your back 100% of the time but a true great friend, mentor and brother in arms. He will surely be missed. Rest easy old friend we have the watch!! 

So sorry to hear about Al prayers go out to his wife and family.

My condolences to the family of Al Jackson.
He was a heck of a trooper and a good man. 
His sense of humor lifted our spirits many, many times. 
I am proud to have served w him since the early 90s. 
Our entire outfit grieves w you all. 
We will all see him again. I know I will never forget him and his guidance when I was a young LT with the Guard. His advice kept me out of a lot of hot water.
