Walter Ralph Johnson

Walter was born March 18th, 1931 to Claude Ralph and Bonnie Myrtle Johnson (Paris) in Greencastle, IN.

Walter was an Army veteran of the Korean War and lifetime member of the VFW. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all his heart. He worked for 33 years and retired from IBM in Greencastle. He was a graduate of Greencastle High School in 1949. Walter was an avid bowler and card player and he loved to spend time working in his garden.

Walter is proceeded in death by his wife Norma Jean Johnson; parents; son Chris Alan Johnson; sisters Laura Ann Sims, Phyllis Lucielle Cox, and Rita Louise Neumann.

Walter is survived by his daughter Vicki (Larry) Oliver; sister Georgia Best; grandchildren Jenny (Adam) Dobson, Brandi (Bobby) Sharp, and Daniel Oliver; great-grandchildren Lilli (Ashley) Lawless, Elizabeth Dobson, Natalie Dobson, Anna Sharp, and Kaydence Sharp; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held February 10th 2025 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home at 12:00 pm. Interment with military honors to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on February 9th 2025 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm.
