Vicky Lynn Weir, 75, of Greencastle, IN, passed away on March 16, 2025, at St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel, IN. She was born on April 13, 1949, in Terre Haute, IN, and lived a life devoted to her family, faith, and community.
Vicky dedicated over 30 years serving as a bus driver for Greencastle School Corporation. She also was an Instructional Assistant at both Greencastle and Old National Trail. She touched the lives of countless students along the way. She also worked at The Goody Shop, Mallory, and Indy Star/Banner Graphic, bringing her strong work ethic and kind spirit to every role she undertook.
She was a devoted member of New Life Fellowship in Terre Haute, IN. Before attending New Life, she was a long-time member of Christ Temple in Terre Haute, where she faithfully served as a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Director, and Ladies Auxiliary Supporter. Her deep love for God and dedication to her church communities left a lasting impact on many lives.
Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. John R. Caton and Betty Jean Brown; Stepfather, Paul Brown; and her beloved grandchildren, Carter Wayne Madsen and Harleigh Elizabeth Weir.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Weir of 53 years; her three children, Jonathan Weir (Robin), Tonia Dibble, and Heidi Madsen (Curtis); and five grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Lauren Dibble, Jeremiah Weir, Ashlynn and Hudson Madsen. She is also survived by her brothers, Mick Caton, Bob Caton (Abigail), and Barry Brown (Ann); her loving aunt, Joann Jett; as well as nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her dedication to her family and friends, and her warm and giving heart.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, located at 602 E. Washington St Greencastle, IN.
A funeral service will follow on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 12:00 pm at New Life Fellowship at 7849 Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute, IN with Pastor Jeffrey Harpole officiating. Family will accept friends from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle, IN.
