Shirley Ann McCabe-Jones

Shirley A. McCabe-Jones, 85, of Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022 surrounded by her family. Born September 15, 1937 in Greencastle, the daughter of Raymond K. and Lucille (Reynolds) Sutherlin. Shirley had worked as a bookkeeper for various companies until her retirement in 2000. She remained very active with ResCare of Putnam County after her retirement She was a member of the Fillmore United Methodist Church; Greencastle Elks Lodge #1077; V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary; and Women of the Moose. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Norman L. Jones and Thomas McCabe; brothers Ronnie, Charles, and Morris Sutherlin and sisters Melinda Sutherlin, Judy K. Little, and Janine Urton: son-in-law Elijah Lewis. Shirley is survived by her children Tonya Lewis, Rodney D. Neese, Kelly G. (Jeannie) Neese, and Chadd L. (Tina) Wilson; sisters Janice Battin and Martha Sutherlin, 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of service.
