Paul was born in Martin County on January 12, 1923, the son of Ira and Zella (Rollens) Taylor, and was a graduate of Burns City High School. He received his Divinity Degree from Garrett Seminary.
Rev. Taylor worked for 32 years with the Allison Division of General Motors until his retirement in 1980. He was a Minister for 60 years serving as Pastor in Belleville, Fillmore, Wesleyan Chapel, and Brick Chapel Churches. He was a member also a member of Brick Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his son Mark Taylor, (wife-Linda), Plainfield; two grandchildren, Travis Taylor, (wife-Lindsey), Champaign, Illinois, and Joshua Taylor, (wife-Catie), Plainfield; and seven great-grandchildren, Devon, Jayden, Brooklyn, Emily, Hanna, Camryn, and Sadie Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, and his wife of 55 years, Sue Taylor.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at Hopkins Rector Funeral Home. A Graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Fillmore Cemetery with Tim Matthews officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to 14th and Chestnut Community Center, 1403 Chestnut Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47807.
