Michael Anthony Tzouanakis II

He was born in Greencastle, IN and was a graduate of Greencastle High School, where he was an accomplished athlete.

He graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute and began a lifelong career in motor sports. He worked for Vels Parnelli Jones Racing, Bob Fletcher Racing, Penske Racing, Bill Simpson Racing, and Pat Santello Racing. He then worked with Bruce Penhall , World Champion Speedway Motorcycle Racer and twice world champion. As he continued his racing career, he worked with Danny Drinan, Miniature Motorsports, Shelby Howard Racing, Rush Trucking and Mike Marlatt Trailer Services

Mike is survived by his sister Stephanie (Scott) Gardner and brother John (Melissa) Tzouanakis; nieces Lindsay (Zac) Reece and Bailey (Brian) Szubinski; nephews Will (fiancé Michelle) Gardner and Taylor Tzouanakis; great niece and nephew Berkeley and Brody Szubinski.

He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Suzanne Tzouanakis.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM on Monday, October 23rd at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mike to St. Paul’s the Apostle Catholic Church or Tzouanakis Intermediate School.
