She was born January 23, 1947 in Lafayette, the daughter of James M. and Wilma R. (Rohler) Hockema and was a graduate of Petersburg High School. Karen had also attended the University of Evansville.
Karen had retired from IPS, where she had worked as a traffic manager at CIRT, the Center for Instructional Radio and Television. She was a member of the Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Benedict F. Tucker II; her children, Tami L. (Michael Wade) McGuire and Lee Kiger and fiancée’ Beth; step children, Mark Tucker and significant other, Kim, and Amy (Joe) Dixon; grandchildren, Payne Stewart, Sadie Stewart, Michael (Heidi) Tucker, Megan (Andrew) Harris, and Sammy Dixon; great grandchildren, Ezekiel Buechler, Mylan, Jamis, and Luca Tucker.
She was preceded in death by her Parents and a brother, Ron Hockema.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 5th at the funeral home.
