Judith Ann McGinnis

Judith Morrow McGinnis, Greencastle, went to join God on August 19, 2017. Judith was born in Indianapolis, the youngest child and only daughter of Dr. Henry and Doras (Gordon) Morrow who preceded her in death. She was the wife of the late Victor Wayne “Mack” McGinnis and sister to three brothers, Dr. Dean H. Morrow, Houston, Texas; Dr. A. Glenn Morrow, Rockville, Maryland, and Richard R. Morrow, Indianapolis; each of whom preceded her in death.

Judith is survived by her sons Stuart McGinnis, Greencastle, and Sean McGinnis, his wife Kimberly, and three grandsons Caleb (Haley), Joshua, and Elisha McGinnis, all of Greencastle; sisters-in-law Virginia Morrow, Sarasota, Florida; Phyllis R. Morrow, Rockville, Maryland; and Jeannie Morrow, Houston, Texas.

She was a graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School, Indianapolis. She studied at Reading University, Reading, England and held a Bachelor’s Degree from Earlham College, Richmond Indiana, and earned a Master’s Degree from the University of Indianapolis, with post graduate work at Indiana University. She was employed by the United Way of Greater Indianapolis and taught at Arsenal Technical High School. More recently, she was a Director of Community Relations for Ivy Tech State College, for 18 years and Director of Marketing at Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, North Carolina, for nine years. After returning to Indiana, she was a coordinator for American Expert Training Systems, Danville, and was an adjunct teacher for many years at Alpha Omega Christian Academy, a mission of Putnamville Baptist Church.

The Irvington United Methodist Church in Indianapolis was her home church where she was a youth leader and choir member. Since returning to Indiana she had been an active member of the Putnamville Baptist Church, where she worshipped with her family. She was a Toastmaster, member of the Danville Rotary Club, and President for two years of the Hendricks County Businesswomen’s Club. She conducted workshops in Indiana and North Carolina on Business and International Protocol and was certified as a consultant by the Protocol School of Washington, D.C. She was also a member of the Humane Society of Putnam County.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Putnamville Baptist Church, 637 U. S. Highway 40, Cloverdale, Indiana 46120. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to time of service on Saturday. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Putnamville Baptist Church.
