Laverne was born in Russellville on October 4, 1929, the daughter of James N. and Bernadine (Williamson) Woodall, and was a 1948 graduate of Greencastle High School.
Mrs. Tincher worked for 13 years with IBM in various positions until her retirement in 1987. Laverne also was owner and operator of Tincher Construction with her husband for 22 years. She had in home counseling with her minister for several years. Laverne was a hummingbird fiend. She enjoyed crocheting doilies, mowing lawns and had a green thumb with it came to her flowers and plants, she had over 100 of them.
Survivors include her five sons, Clifford “Bud” E. Tincher Jr., (Grace), James “Jim” Wilford Tincher, (Khadija), Arthur “Art” Ray Tincher, Marvin Thomas “Tom” Tincher, (Debra), and Michael A. “Mike” Tincher, (Arlene); a brother, Lee Woodall, (June); two sisters, Betty Kendall and Elsie Cline; 28 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford E Tincher Sr.; a granddaughter, Angel Utchell; two brothers, Buddy Woodall, and Nelson Woodall; and a sister, Joy Siegmund.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023, at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Evangelist Lawrence Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday.
