She was born October 2, 1931 in Pensacola, FL, the daughter of Charles David and Augustus Juanita (Christmas) Benton and was a graduate of Pensacola High School.
Fran was a homemaker and attended St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Diana) Callahan, Katie (Kenny) Cooper, James (Barb) Callahan, and Patricia (Randy) Pittman; a brother, James Benton; eight grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Callahan; son, Thomas Callahan; her parents; and a brother, Charles Benton.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM on Tuesday until time of services at the funeral home.
