Barbara Jean Veselits Makuh passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015 in Plainfield, Indiana. She was born on September 17, 1931 in Muskegon Heights, Michigan to Fred Veselits and Elizabeth Pezenhofer Veselits.
Barbara was the youngest of fourteen children. She was preceded in death by her parents, twelve siblings and a granddaughter, Rebecca Elizabeth Herrick.
Surviving are her children, Kim Schultz and husband Phil and their children Kiah and Amanda of Escondido, California; Leslie Herrick and husband Scott and their children Andrew and Lynsey of Fillmore, Indiana; and Allan Makuh and wife Barb and their children Allison and A.J. of Gurnee, Illinois; a brother, Eugene Veselits of Roosevelt Park, Michigan; three sister-in-laws, Celeste Ciesel, Carole Miller and husband Don, and Kathy Makuh; several cousins, nieces and nephews and their families; and Tucker the bichon.
Barbara was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
She studied Opera in Chicago and throughout her life enjoyed singing at church and family events. Barbara also was an avid bowler, and enjoyed making cookies from old family recipes during the holidays.
A family celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date in Muskegon, Michigan.
Inurnment will be in the family plot at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Memorials in Barbara's name may be shared with the Ronald McDonald House of Southwest Florida, 16100 Roserush Ct, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
