William Thomas Griffin

William T. “Bill” Griffin, 88, of Greeley, died Saturday, September 10, 2016 at North Colorado Medical Center. He was born on May 26, 1928 in Greeley to Chester William and Helen Lucille (Dennings) Griffin.

Bill attended College High School, where he graduated. He met Dorris at Warnoco Roller Skating Rink. They were married on November 7, 1948 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fort Collins.

Bill loved playing cards with his family and at the Evans and Kersey Senior Centers. He retired at the age of 55, but continued working as a plumber for many years afterwards.

Bill enjoyed taking care of their home and would never have a sprinkler system, because he wanted to water on his own.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Katherine Griffin and Ivy Dee-Ann Daugherty both of Greeley; sons, William Griffin II (Linda) of Greeley, Michael Griffin (Gail) of Wellington and Glenn Griffin (Dianna) of Greeley and Theo Griffin (Rose) of Greeley; sister, Helen Lucile Faust of Greeley; 15 grandchildren, Wesley, Charlie, Danny, Tracy, Wendy, Sara, Jane, Danny, Shannan, Kate, David, Matthew, Mark, Richard and Shaun; 22 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorris and three sisters, Mary Wiley, Ethel Griffin and Irene Wiley.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
