Timothy Keith Kuxhausen, 58, of Windsor/Greeley, CO, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 at his home from natural causes, while in a very happy place in his life. He was born March 20, 1964 in Boulder, CO to Suzanne and Keith Kuxhausen.
Tim is survived by his sons, Sanderson and Noah both of North Carolina; siblings, Kay Croghan of Mesa, AZ, Julie (Royal) Rich of Johnstown, CO, Terri Iverson of Windsor, CO, David Alexander (Martha) of Brighton, CO, Gina (Dave) Hawk of Littleton, CO, Darcy Lawrence of Torrington, WY, and Dari Alexander (Joe) of Mesa, CO; longtime and forever friend, Michele Kuxhausen, the mother of Noah; his Golden Retriever and best friend in life, Abby and a number of very special nieces, nephews and their families and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Keith Kuxhausen, mother Suzanne Kuxhausen, step-mother, Shirley (Sam) Kuxhausen and all his grandparents.
Tim loved watching his superstar sons play baseball, NASCAR, going to car shows, bowling and fishing. He was a great cook, with so many friends and family asking for his “Timmy biscuits” recipe, which will no doubt be passed along for generations. Tim moved from Longmont, CO to Charlotte, NC in his 20s, returning to Colorado upon retiring in his early 50s. While in North Carolina, he enjoyed boating and going on RV trips with his family.
Tim obtained his certification as an airplane mechanic, as he loved airplanes, but soon pursued a career in sales and was a successful, third-generation shoe sales representative. He adored his family and had some more recent special times with his son, Noah, going on a trip to Hawaii, ziplining, watching Noah sky dive, watching movies together, and always making the best of their time together. He lived for not only his family, but he took great joy in spending time with his best friend, Abby, who never left his side, nor him hers. He took Abby everywhere he went and had an extensive bandana collection for her, which were her “clothes”, dressing her in the morning, and undressing her each evening. He was always a lover of his pets, including Nala, Laya, Rex, Cuddles and many others.
Tim loved reading, and collected John Grisham books. He also loved movies, always sharing and advising his family on which Netflix movie or series to check out. He was always telling jokes, making everyone smile around him, and just the “funny” guy in the family or in the room. Everyone he met was his friend, he was a people-magnet. He had so many lifelong friends along his journey, many of which he stayed in touch with over the years. He also had very special North Range friends in Greeley in his most recent months and years. Tim was a top-notch golfer in his earlier years, taking after his Dad and Grandpa, and never gave up his love for golf.
When his family would tell him how special and amazing he was, he’d always respond with, “You know I don’t like accolades!” Tim was an incredibly humble, giving, loving, and a soft, yet big-hearted man, brother, father, and friend, and will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Lake Club, 4555 Long Pine Lake Drive, Loveland, CO. A light brunch buffet will be served.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tim’s name to the ASPCA or your favorite animal rescue organization in care of Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley, CO 80634.
