Wow. I just found out about little Tommy's passing today, on February 26, 2011. I was reading a blog that reminded me of Veronica, and I wondered what happened to her. So, I googled her and Tommy's obituary was the first thing that popped up, and it absolutely broke my heart. I remember you Tommy. I remember you wanting to come down and play video games with me and your sister. I remember you spying on us when we would do silly dances to Ace of Base. But most of all I remember that I always thought you were the most adorable thing ever. I'll see you in heaven someday ""little"" man. Veronica if you happen to see this, please know that I am thinking about you and wondering how you are. Much love.

Dear Dick,
You gave new meaning to the words class, dignity, and courage at Tommy's funeral.  The way you stood there and not only greeted but also comforted people as they came and left was just extraordinary.  I imagine that most of us who came thought we were coming to comfort you, but, in fact, something more occurred.  The words you spoke were beautiful. The cross section of people and the heartfelt emotions so very evident surely were the greatest tribute to Tommy.
A boy who made that kind of impact on so many types and ages of people didn't just develop in a vacuum, though.  The outpouring of love and support was also a tremendous tribute to you, the father who raised him.  You are the one who obviously cultivated and nurtured the many gifts and talents that made Tommy such an unusual, complex, and sensitive person.  I know you and he had many special times together.  On a dark, rainy day toward the end of summer school, Tommy arrived with such a big smile and happy manner.  I inquired, and he said that you went in to work late that morning just so that you could drive him to school, and that while you were waiting, you played guitar for him.  He really loved that.  Later that day, I saw him walk down the hall and click his heels together in the air.  That is what I am remembering.  I am grateful for the time I had with him.

I am deeply sorry for your loss.  Thomas was without a doubt one of my favorite students at LHS.  Many times I wished that his kindness and maturity would be contagious. He was a special person, and I will miss him dropping by my classroom to say hello.

I am so sorry... my prayers are with you. Tom is someone who laid heavy on my heart from the day I met him. I always looked forward to seeing him at meetings, and was so proud of him! May he be at peace and at home with God!

I remember the family joy the day Tommy was born on April 11, 1991.  What a blessing it has been.  Unfortunately distance has limited our times together, but our nephew was so easy to ""know"".  He loved trivia and playing games and I'll always remember the wonderful trip we took with him up to Yellowstone along with his dog Spot.  I respected his choice of cuisine since he ate buffalo burgers! I know that Tom is now with his Mom and sister Margaret and his grandparents watching over his family.  He is now at peace and no longer struggling. Veronica and Rick know that the Kolman Klan is here for them when they feel overwhelmed and always.  Love Aunt Diane

We are so sorry to hear that Tommy had passed away.. We will never forget him... We will remember him from Pat's Daycare, Clogging with Douglas, and countless times Douglas and Tommy hung out at school. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family in your time of need.. God Bless

I was so sorry to read of Thomas' death, he aided for me in the Counseling Office for two years and was such a great guy. Fun, great sense of humor, hard working and very organized.  I got to know him better than many of my aides, he was so open and friendly. He even let me read some of his writing, he was very gifted. I am so sorry--I can't imagine your pain.

      I only knew Tommy from school. We hung out a lot outside of school. We played guitar together. I remember one day Tom, Nateal, and I all ditched school to go hang out at Tom's place and we played guitar for Nateal. I also remember Tom was wanting to sell his marble chess set and Nateal and I fought over it. Ha ha ha. Good times. Nateal won. He said he was going to tell you it was stolen. I miss him. Man he always looked the same. I love that man he's a goofy guy.

   I can not begin to express how sorry I am for your loss. We all lost Tom together. You are not alone. I had countless good times with him and they won't be forgotten. As you already know he will be missed by a lot of people. There are people here for you. You can still visit me at perkins. :)

Since I heard about Tom,s passing away You have been in my prayers. I had the priviledge to work with Tom at the Habitat Restore Store.When I went to volunteer and was having a bad day Tom knew how cheer me up and make me laugh. I did not know Tommy as a friend. But upon his passing, I could see the love his friends had for him. His presence was felt throughout our school. His caring personality will be missed. My condolences go out to his entire family. He will be dearly missed.

Tommy was a friend that I've had since 3rd grade. He was always there when you needed him, and over all a great person. I will miss him greatly! I love you Tommy! I hope you have found peace.

Im sorry about your loss, Tom was my best friend he was always able to make me laugh. I consider him as a brother. He was generous to me all the time when others wern't. He was the first friend I ever had and since that day in elementry he's always watched my back. I thank you for raising him becuase he was one the best people who ever entered my life

I am very sorry for you loss. Tom was one of the nicest dudes I think I will ever know. I went to LHS with him. No matter what mood you were in when you went to class, if he was there you would always leave laughing. He was awesome and will be remembered.

I was shocked and saddened to read of Thomas' passing recently. I work at the LHS library and Thomas was one student I could count on to be friendly, always smiling with a kind word, and very respectful. I enjoyed seeing Thomas almost daily and I am very sorry for your loss.

We are very sorry for your loss.  Our son, Johnathan, knew Tommy though JROTC where they competed together in competitions.  Our hearts go out to you and your family, and you will all be in our prayers.  Tommy will be missed, but never forgotten.

My prayers are with Tommy and his family, and friends! I only knew Tommy when I would go in to see my parents at Habitat, and every time he was around he had this smile that could light up the darkest room. My parents cared very much for him. When he would see my mom he would tell her Hola and she would say Hola come esta and he would say bien e tu, but just the way he said it they would both laugh about it. I remember one time I ate lunch with my parents and Tommy came in with a silver package, and I asked him what are you eating? He tells me a MRE, and my mom was like what is that I told her its what military eat, Meals Ready to Eat, so Tommy opens the pouch and smells it, we all laugh and he says it smells good, I told him are you sure that is good? He said we will find out. So as he ate this MRE, I told him maybe you should heat it up, he said nah I like it cold with a big smile! We sure are going to miss that smile! But we will remember Tommy and his smile ALWAYS!

I am so sorry to hear about sweet Tommy's passing.  He was a wonderfully compassionate and innocent child.  I can't believe it's been so many years since I've lived next to your family.  Life takes us in so many different directions that sometimes we fail to keep up with friends and neighbors that we care about.  I'm sorry that I haven't stayed in better touch.  I am sorry for your loss, but know without a doubt that you will see Tommy and Becky again.  I also know how you can be together as a family forever and would love to share my beliefs with you if you have an interest.
