On a clear blue sunny afternoon, Taylor Adderton Sweeney, 27 of Windsor, cast his final fishing lure to heaven on March 21, 2016 in Windsor, CO. Taylor was born to Carol Walker and Craig A. Sweeney on February 3, 1989 at 5:59 P.M. in Houston, TX. Taylor graduated from Windsor High School in 2007.
Taylor lived a magnificent life doing what he loved most which was fishing, hunting and camping with his most trusted and faithful friend Bejan. They traversed the high Rocky Mountains for the best fishing spots, a place to pitch a tent in the tall pines and to find the peace and serenity of the starry night sky. Taylor also was an avid hunter and loved nothing more than to go hunting in Texas with his father Cactus.
Taylor spent as much time as he could at the ranch in Comfort, TX, enjoying the place he called a second home that he shared with his father and of course, the ever faithful Bejan. Texas had all the trappings Taylor loved most, big wide open spaces, plenty of streams and lakes. This satisfied the hunter and fisherman extraordinaire that he was. The person he became was kind, compassionate and selfless, as well as the outdoorsman…all mirrored after his father Cactus. He was known for his generosity to the point that he would go without to make sure friends and family were taken care of. One of the most precious memories Cactus has of Taylor was when he won the Boy Scout Soap Box Derby in 1996 with a car he built.
Taylor is survived by his constant and inseparable, loving companion Bejan; his good friend Osirus; his dad Craig “Cactus” Sweeney, Joan Wirth, Windsor, CO; his brother Andrew Butterfield; as well as many loving Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother Carol Walker Sweeney.
Services will be held Friday, March 25, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Allnutt Macy Chapel with a reception to follow in the Allnutt Reception Center.
Relatives and friends are invited to wear camouflage in honor of Taylor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Taylor Sweeney Tree Memorial Fund in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 702 13th Street, Greeley, CO, 80631. The donations will be used to purchase and plant trees in the Rocky Mountains where Taylor and Bejan loved to spend most of their time.
