Born in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania on August 20th, 1970, Tara Vance spent the first 9 years of her life there with her brother John. After her mother’s death, she moved to Greeley, Colorado, and was adopted by her new family and spent the rest of her childhood there. She graduated from Greeley West High School in 1988. While there, she explored a multitude of passionate talents including varsity volleyball, track, the saxophone, choir, marching, jazz and pep band, in which she lettered. The foremost of these passions, however, was dancing (which she started at the age of ten, later placing 2nd in the “Stars of Tomorrow” competition). She spent time in Florida, working at Progressive Insurance and enjoyed all the time she had at the beach. Missing her roots, she moved back to Greeley and started working at Flood & Peterson for several years, before she and her husband Todd were blessed with two amazing children: Tyler and Alexa. Along with dancing, her love for music defined her, attending many concerts across the country, almost missing a family vacation to see her favorite, Duran Duran. She also loved the outdoors, being a pro at waterskiing, camping and boating. Along with an amazing sense of humor, she enjoyed family and 80s films like School of Rock, Dirty Dancing and A Knight’s Tale and she was almost unbeatable at Scrabble. Tara was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a devoted follower of God. She spent her life raising her children in the most positive and influential way, resulting in a maternal pride that she carried with her to the end. After separating from her husband, Tara took a job at JBS for the remainder of her years. Throughout her life, Tara was ahead of her time, her style emulating a rock star diva vibe without concern about what people may have thought. From the moment she was born, Tara embodied a beautiful light in the world around her, keeping her faith and her family alive long after her time on Earth.
Due to extenuating circumstances the public service has been postponed to a date to be determined later for extended family, as well as important friends and coworkers. Thank you for your understanding during these confusing times.
