Steven Wayne Hamilton, 63, unexpectedly passed away on the morning of September 10, 2021. Steve was born November 21, 1957, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to William and Pauline Hamilton. He was the second youngest child of six. Steve spent most of his childhood in Kentucky. His family moved to Greeley, Colorado in 1970 where he continued to reside until his death.
Steve graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1975 and began working in the oil field for Exeter Drilling the following year. Steve worked in the oil field for 45 years. During this time, he worked for Rooster Drilling, DHS Drilling and Sauer Drilling to name a few. He ended his career working with KP Kauffman Drilling as Operations Manager.
Steve found joy in spending time with family and his dog, Boomer. He loved doing many outdoor activities like fishing, hunting and working in his yard and garage. He loved Harley Davidsons and any kind of “big boy toy.” Steve was known for his blue eyes and giving the best hugs. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. Steve was an amazing brother and father to his siblings and children.
Steve is survived by his sons, Chris and wife Shannon Hamilton of Wellington, CO, and Shaun Fallon and wife Julie of Severance, CO; daughter Nichole Lauer and husband Ryan of Greeley, CO; brothers, Mike Hamilton and wife Nina of Greeley, and Jakey Hamilton of Avon, FL; sisters, Barb Horn of Owensboro, KY and Karen Hamilton of Battlement Mesa, CO; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David.
There will be a private family viewing at Stoddard Funeral Home on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Following the viewing there will be a public celebration of life at Lit’l Bit Bar and Grill located at 3620 35th Ave. in Evans, CO, from 2-4 pm.
