Shirley Reeves

Shirley Jean Reeves, 61, of Greeley, passed away May 15, 2016 at her home. She was born October 7, 1954 in Brush, Colorado to Eldon Eugene and Dorothy Jean (Mayes) Dorsey. She grew up in the Greeley and Windsor areas. After her education, she was a daycare provider and a homemaker. Shirley married Dale R. Reeves on February 14, 1981 in Greeley.

Shirley loved playing bingo and slot machines and enjoyed trips to Blackhawk and Central City. She liked to go out dancing and also spending time in the mountains. Above all was her love for her family, especially spoiling her grandchildren. Shirley spent many joyous hours volunteering her time and services at Youth For Christ Ministries in Greeley. She loved to cook and bake, and was known for her wonderful lasagna, cinnamon rolls and krautburgers. Shirley enjoyed listening to traditional country music while decorating her home.

Shirley is survived by her husband Dale; one daughter Kathryn ReevesBurrola (Jessica ReevesBurrola) of Greeley; one son Dale Eugene (Dominique Lyon-Reeves)of Boise, Idaho; three brothers Donald Dorsey, Danny Dorsey (Pamela) and Bobby Dorsey all of Greeley; six grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2016 at Stoddard Funeral Home.
