Sharon Rose Wilson, 81, passed away peacefully on July 31st 2022. Born on May 13th 1941, to parents; John Wilson and Rose Schlagel in Denver Colorado. Sharon graduated from Longmont High School in 1959. She then went on to attend UNC for her Bachelor’s degree and Purdue for her Master’s degree.
Sharon was an English professor for 41 years at UNC and participated in the Fulbright Exchange Teacher Program for a year. She held the position of writing director at UNC for a total of 4 years. She was a member of the advisory board for “Colorado Seminars” from 1980 till retirement. In 1980 Sharon was the Boulder County Women’s Resource Center visiting speaker. Sharon was a proud charter member of the Nation Museum of Women in Art as well as the Women’s Philharmonic. In her life, Sharon was able to publish two books as well as contributed to many other books and periodicals. She loved to read and write; it was one of her favorite pastimes. She loved watching movies and traveling to film festivals. Sharon greatly appreciated all the arts including music. She loved the Beatles, Mozart and Nirvana. Sharon Wilson lived a very happy and fulfilling life and she will be greatly missed in her passing.
Sharon Wilson is survived in life by her son; Steven Wilson-Brown, brother; John Wilson, nieces; Jessica, Tina and Kim.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; John Wilson and Rose Schlagel.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 28th, at Kimberly's Event Center - 1029 8th Ave Greeley, CO from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
