Sharon Kay Haworth, 66, passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2022, at home in Greeley, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and LaVonne Sandoval. Sharon was born in Greeley and lived in Greeley all of her life. Sharon was married to Michael Snyder until he passed away in August 1979 in an automobile accident.
Early in her work life, Sharon was a Food Stamp Technician for Weld County Social Services. In 1983 she and her second husband Charles Haworth, opened Discount Tool in Greeley, Sharon and Charles were married for 12 years before going separate ways in 1993. She loved to play cards, read and go to yard sales. Sharon had a special bond with all of the Haworth family, that continued to grow over the years. She was instrumental in caring for Allene Haworth, her mother-in-law, in her last days. If the nurse said we needed to do something, Sharon was the first to say she would do it. You could always count on Sharon in a crisis. Sharon’s smile and laughter were contagious. Sharon will be in the hearts of all the Haworth family. We love you Sharon, Karen Sorenson and Maril Allen.
Fate has a strange way of bringing people together. In life, everything happens for a reason, and Sharon Haworth came into our lives thru our cousin, Derold Watson, whose second wife was Sharon’s Mom LaVonne. This union provided the pathway for us to become friends.
Through the years our friendship developed, and we were there for each other in joy, celebration, grief and concerns throughout each other’s lives. We always met to celebrate holidays and birthdays, exchanged gifts and cards. Meeting for a meal and catching up was always a special time for us.
Sharon always met us with a smile and hug. Sunday’s, after church we had breakfasts in Sharon’s home with our mother, Ella. We learned to love coffee and creamers, tried and experimented with sauces, which Sharon always requested for her meals. She loved hot and spicy!
In our faith we know that Sharon is at peace. Our lives have been blessed to have had a friendship with Sharon. We will miss you Sharon, Colleen and Ronell Heitman
Julie Peter met Sharon when she was the Conservator for her Uncle Danny Tecker 16 years ago. I moved Danny to Greeley to be closer to Sharon and Derold Watson. In 2010 I became Sharon’s Power of Attorney agent when she needed help with her seizure disorder, hip replacement surgery and then other medical issues. Over the course of the last 14 years, I would travel to Greeley monthly to help Sharon, manage her finances and medical care. She was like a sister to me, we had such fun together, and so many laughs. In the last year Sharon started having some memory issues and her care needed additional help. Thank you Karen Pion for stepping in as a wonderful detail-oriented caregiver. Sharon left us too soon.
A Celebration of Life for Sharon will be held Monday, February 6, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. Following the Celebration of Life will be an interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 W. 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
