Ruddy graduated from East High School in Cheyenne, WY, and then relocated to Colorado. He enlisted in the United States Navy, and served in the Vietnam War. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Geology/Archaeology at UNC, and an Associate Arts degree at AIMS, and during his life he had various careers.
Ruddy was an avid Denver Bronco’s fan, he loved playing bingo, painting, and was a collector of stamps, sports cards, and coins.
Ruddy made everybody around him laugh, he never passed up a moment to tell you a joke. He loved being around the ones he loved, and sharing a good meal with them. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man.
He is preceded in death by his parents Anastacio T Valencia, Aurora (Dora) J, wife Ernestine, sons Bryan, Anastacio, and Marcus, brothers Henry and Richard, and his sisters Lucy Mercado, Joyce Sierra-Medina, and Joann Bowers.
Ruddy Albert Valencia departed this life on April 18, 2022. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include sons Michael (wife Tonya), Rudy, sister Marylou, and brother Robert, grandchildren Alexander, Leinani, and Gabe, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation for Ruddy will be held Monday, May 9, 2022 at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace, 1311 3rd Street, Greeley, CO 80631. A mass of christian burial will occur Monday, May 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM. A burial will occur Monday, May 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Linn Grove Cemetery, 1700 Cedar Avenue, Greeley, CO 80631. A reception gathering will occur Monday, May 9, 2022 at 11:30 PM at Allnutt Funeral Service, Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
