Our beloved mother Rosalie “Rosie” Bell Hackett passed away in her sleep peacefully of natural causes and went to be with Jesus at the Greeley Village Memory Care Unit on Monday, January 1, 2024, at age 95. Rosie was born to Berdene and Henry Ellis on August 24, 1928, in Wendell, Idaho.
Rosie graduated from Boise High School on May 24, 1946. She continued her education by graduating from Saint Mary’s Nursing School in 1949 as a Registered Nurse following with a post grad at Saint Luke’s Hospital. She worked for Twin Falls Hospital, LDS Hospital and Sacred Heart Hospital and specialized in obstetrics.
Rosie met her husband, Robert “Bob” Hackett in 1950 at a local pub in Boise, Idaho after leaving nurses training school where he had to show off his brand-new convertible to her. They married two years later on March 15, 1952, and went on to have four children, Wayne, Janet, Bobbi, and Linda.
After moving to Colorado in 1973 Rosie and Bob enjoyed many years of camping and fishing. Rosie loved to garden and bowl in her free time.
Rosie is survived by her son, Wayne Hackett; daughter’s, Bobbi Lantz, and Linda Hanna; five grandchildren, Nicole Fuller, Ashley Larson, Morgan Kendall, Sammy Lantz, and Stevie Lantz; five great grandchildren, Ashlyn Mallory, Mason Mallory, Maddy Brumley, Juniper Lang, Emberlynn Lang, and Jett Gilmore.
Rosie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hackett; her parents, Henry, and Berdene Ellis; daughter, Janet Hackett; and two granddaughters, Shelley Hackett, and Angela Mallory.
A visitation for Rosalie will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. A Funeral Service will occur Friday, January 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. An Interment will occur Friday, January 12, 2024 at Linn Grove Cemetery, 1700 Cedar Ave, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
