Roger was raised in Windsor, Colorado and after finishing high school, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He then worked as an accountant for Coors in Golden and at Advanced Energy Vestas. He eventually retired from the City of Greeley at the end of his career.
Roger married the love of his life, Anita Martin on December 5, 1970, and together they raised two children; Ricky and Tina. They spent their lives together up until her passing on January 1, 2025. Roger was a devout Catholic and was baptized at St. Peter's Catholic Church where he also became an Alter Boy. As a young boy, Roger's dad played the accordion and taught him how to play. In Roger's free time, he enjoyed hanging out with his friends and having a Coors Light. He loved being with his family and having big family gatherings; those traditions were his favorite. Roger also absolutely loved the Denver Broncos, he was a huge fan.
