Bob was born March 12, 1939 in DeWitt, Clinton County, Iowa. He & his wife, Mary Jo were married in October 1963 and just celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary! They have been blessed with 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Their children are son Jay Alan, wife Jonna, of Littleton, CO, their children Morgan & Torrie; daughter Lori Ann of Denver, CO, her children Chelsea & Nicholas; son Chad Edward, wife Ronda, of Phoenix, AZ, their children Jamal & Ethan. He is also survived by his brother Jim Seifert, wife Leona, of Donahue, Iowa and a sister Janice Johnson of Cody, WY. He has numerous family members living in the Davenport/DeWitt area, especially a favorite cousin Patty Kroeger. He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Dorothy Seifert.
He graduated from DeWitt High School’s Class of ’57. He entered into the Army in August of 1958 assigned to Crete Missile Base in NE. He was honorably discharged in August of 1961.
Bob began working at the Kuner-Empson Company in Brighton, CO in 1966, retiring as General Manager in 2001 after 35 years of service.
He and Mary Jo moved from Lakewood, CO to Estes Park in October 1987.
They enjoyed traveling, loved history, especially visiting old forts, museums and staying at historic hotels. He was involved with the Lions Club and the Rooftop Rodeo Committee. His favorite activity in the summer was being a docent at the Estes Park Museum Hydro Plant out on Fish Hatchery Road, introducing guests to the history of F.O. Stanley’s part in establishing resources to power the Town of Estes Park.
A celebration of his life will be held at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church in Estes Park on Wednesday, January 10th, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers if you wish donations may be made to the future Estes Park Museum Collections and Research Facility, 200 Fourth Street, Estes Park, CO 80517.
