Robert “Bob” Cassidy was born in Edmond, OK to Robert and Frieda Cassidy. He attended Edmond High School and Oklahoma City University where he was a basketball star playing in four consecutive NCAA tournaments. After college, Bob served in the Army’s 59th Field Artillery in Europe. He worked as an executive with Prudential and American Community Life Insurance companies. He married Hope Machina in 1963 and settled in Greeley, Colorado in 1976. Bob was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and served with Gideons International for over 50 years. He was an avid sportsman and award-winning photographer. He shared a passion for swimming with his children. He served as a booster for the Greeley Swim Club and a USA Swimming Official for almost two decades.
Bob is survived by his wife, Hope Cassidy; daughter, Cara Machina; son, Robert (Kara) Cassidy and grandchildren, Julia Machina, Sara Machina, Liam Cassidy and Laird Cassidy.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2020 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1800 21st Avenue, Greeley.
