On behalf of the Council of Chiefs, I want to extend our deepest condolences on the passing of a fellow Chief Illiniwek.
We're so happy he was able to join us during the 80th anniversary in Champaign and be able to share his thought with us on his experiences during his time.
I know that he went on to accomplish incredible things after college, but know his contribution as Chief Illiniwek will always be appreciated.
Dede, please don't be a stranger and know you are always welcome back to the UofI with open arms.  We'd love to see you again.

Dear Bischoff Family,
Mom (LaVerne Dillon) and I were very sad to hear about Bob's death.  Mom said he was like her little brother when they were growing up.  She is very sorry that she didn't get to see him before he passed.  If someone in the family could call her, she would appreciate it. LaVerne's number in St. Louis is 314-638-8288. My wife Pennie and I were not able to attend Bob's funeral, but want you all to know how sorry we are and how much this world will miss this man.Bob made a huge impression on all of us that had the pleasure of working for him at State farm.He was a hero to us, a role model and the clear Leader of our Region. In those days everybody knew who was in charge at State Farm.He was a strong advocate of our Agency system, and as our RVP, we trusted him and would have done anything for him. My deepest sympathies to the entire family.We all have lost a great man.

Please accept my sincere sympathy due to the loss of your husband and dad.
He was the RVP when I joined SF in 1988 and my inspiration to obtain all 6 insurance designations,  especially the CPCU designation.  Even after his ""retirement"" as RVP, I was able to see Dede and Bob several times during trips to/from the Peoria Airport sharing a ride back to Bloomington.  My adult career has revolved around the insurance business for 20+ years in part to the leadership provided by a wonderful man - your husband and father, Bob Bischoff.
May the Lord Jesus give each of you strength in the coming days and weeks as you face life with Bob as a cheerleader in heaven.

Bob is a wonderful man and we will miss him very much.  I enjoyed spending time with him at the Fourth of July parade at my parents house.  I will miss delivering work between him and my mom. I know what an accomplished business man he was, but we had only known him for the last 5 years, so we met this wonderful man as he walked through our neighborhood with his sweet friend Molly. You may not recall, but I clearly do-- that evening (in about 197?) I spent in your home in Greeley, with you and your dad, talking about Sigma Chi.
Wonderful people make great impressions.  I don't recall ever meeting your father other than that one time, but I know for certain he was ""very good folk.""
