She was raised in LaSalle and attended a one-room school in the southern part of Weld County. On September 24, 1943, she married John Gibbons in Seattle, Washington. After marriage, she lived in various communities in Washington. They moved to the Hudson area in 1949, and in 1954 they moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Sue loved to write, and she was an excellent seamstress. She was a published Christian writer; she wrote several articles and led Christian education seminars nationwide. Sue loved teaching, especially children’s Sunday school. She was a Bible scholar, and hosted many Bible studies.
Sue is survived by her daughters, Susie (Virg) Booher of Colorado Springs and Beth (Don) Burough of Greeley; sister, Margie Eager of Greeley; 3 grandchildren, Tammy (Ed) Pattynama of Palmer Lake, and Mark (Cory) Burough and Carla (Darin) Voss both of Greeley; 5 great-grandchildren, Matt (Angel) Maier of Pueblo, Ben (Ashleigh) Maier of Littleton, and Halli Burough, Cali Burough, and Brooklyn Voss all of Greeley; and 3 great-great-grandchildren, Braelynn, Paisley, and Chevelle Maier all of Pueblo.
Private family services will be held. Interment at Evans Cemetery, Evans, Colorado.
