Paula was raised and educated in Brooklyn, where she graduated from high school. She met Don Bertch on a trolley in New York City. They were married on January 19, 1946. After their marriage they farmed near Troupsburg, New York for 20 years. They moved to town after her husband got a job with Stuben Co. After her husband’s death on January 19, 1981, Pauline moved to Florida to be near some of her children.
Paula met Roy Bodien and they were married on November 28, 1981. He died on December 10, 2013. Paula moved to Evans, Colorado in May 2016 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Dottie and Barry Bloom.
Paula’s passions included shopping and watching QVC and JTV. She loved taking care of her home; inside and out and above all, she loved her family.
Pauline is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Jim) DuBreuil of Columbus, Ohio, Gail (Jim) Roe of Ormond Beach, Florida, Dottie (Barry) Bloom of Evans, Colorado; son, Don (Terry) Bertch of Daytona Beach, Florida; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Roy Michael Bertch, three brothers, Anthony, Mike and Don Malito; granddaughter, Trisha Hendrix and great-grandson, Peyton Halsted.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 550 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach, FL.
