Norma M. Nelson, 84, of Ault, Colorado passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Bonell Good Samaritan Society in Greeley. She was born in Miami, New Mexico on April 4, 1929 to Vance and Florence (Hall) Miller. Norma was raised and attended public schools in New Mexico. She was first married to Richard Lloyd and later widowed. On October 28, 1962, she married William S. Nelson in Ault, Colorado.
Norma worked in farming and was a homemaker and caregiver. She was a member of and taught Sunday school at the First Lutheran Church of Ault. She also held memberships in the Swedish Heritage Club and Red Hats as well as Lutheran Church Women. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and taking care of, providing for, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two children, daughter, Tarita Propp and husband James of Greeley, Colorado and son, Gale Nelson and wife Angie also of Greeley; sister, Bessie Massey of Grand Junction, Colorado and brother, Harold Miller of Greeley, Colorado; grandchildren, Jaxon, James, and Madilyn Nelson, Chandler Stolte and step-grandchildren, Tyler, Aubrianna, and Emmarie Propp.
She is preceded in death by husband, William S. Nelson; parents, Florence and Vance Miller; sister, Dorothy Reid; five brothers, Jim, Bud, Frank, Cliff, and Garold Miller.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 20 at First Lutheran Church in Ault. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
