Very sad news. A wonderful woman - and grandmother. My belated condolences to the family and those closest to Norma (""Susie's Mom"")...

I was shocked and saddened to have found out on Mother's Day through online research that my beautiful, kind, beloved grandmother, ""Susie's Mom"" had passed away last year.  We had not heard from her for many years (no response from letters.)  I remember visiting her on the farm, taking walks with her, having picnics with her, and her reading me Agatha Christie mysteries when I was a little girl.  She will not be forgotten.  Also sad is the fact that my mother, Susan, nor I was even notified of her passing.

To all the family that reads this (including the ones I have never met) - I never really got to know my only grandma, we had only spent a small amount of time together on her farm in Indiana when I was very young along with my mom and two sisters. I briefly remember she had a beautiful a-frame house, grapes and sheep in the fields. I know she had entered or won beauty pagents in Illinois, but that is all... Unfortunately, I don't have many memories of the great woman herself, only her lovely smile and calm demeanor while we were there. 
It saddens me to find out my only grandmother has died and I found out via an email over six months later. I learned more about her from her memorial page than I ever did in real life. Susan Doneff (maiden name: Delaney), my mother, never really had much contact with her and the rest of her brothers and sisters and family. I wish I would have gotten to know her more, much more and wish the families could unite and communicate more in the future (close and distant, near and far). I know my mom, Susan, has brothers and sisters and has often told us stories of her family. I just wish it would be a reality to actually meet these people one day. I am truly sorry to hear the loss of my grandmother Norma. She had once bought me a small hand-carved wooden camel from Jerusalem, the only object I can recall this day. It is a shame one can go through an entire life and never fully meet the potential of family relationships (whether by choice or lack of opportunity). To Bill & family,
  I am very sorry to hear of Normas passing.  It is always a very sad day. She was always very kind to me and all others she met while going about her life. While I was caring for my Dad during his last days  I couldn't help but be moved with the love shown by Bill to his wife.  Every day he was there for her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
