Nannette Louise Van Deest, 84 of Greeley, passed away July 31, 2019. She was born in Jamestown, North Dakota on February 10, 1935 to Ernest Burr and Zelma Louise Canfield. She graduated from Jamestown High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry in the nursing program at Jamestown College (now Jamestown University). Nannette married Ben Van Deest on July 26, 1957 in Jamestown, North Dakota
Nannette was a registered nurse at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND, Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas, TX where she was in charge of and taught at the Texas Woman’s University Surgical Student Nursing Program, as well as Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, in Philadelphia. She retired from nursing to raise her family.
Nannette was a past member of the Woman’s Medical Auxiliary, the Greeley Philharmonic Guild, the Shawsheen Chapter of Questers, and DAR. She had a passion for art, music, traveling, antiques, cooking and genealogy.
She is survived by her husband, Ben Van Deest, Greeley; daughter, Nannelle (Bradford) Edgren, Greeley; son Bradford Van Deest of Saltville, Virginia; Grandchildren, Tessa Edgren, Chicago, IL, Daphne Edgren, New York, NY, Sidne Van Deest, Las Vegas, NV, Colton, Byers, Hagan and Lucas Van Deest, Saltville, VA
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Zelma Elder.
A private family service is to be held at the Allnutt Macy Chapel.
