He was born on September 12, 1948 in Sandusky, Ohio to Bernard S. Prybylski and Marian L. Timassy. Mike was an adventurous traveler who had a love for the ocean and beach. He graduated from Aviation High School in Redondo Beach, California.
Mike served in the United States Navy and was a highly decorated Vietnam War veteran. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross for his heroism and courage as a door gunner aboard a US Navy armed helicopter. In addition, he was also awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Air Medal (Strike/Flight Air Medal 17), Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device (1960 – ), and the National Defense Medal.
After serving in the Vietnam War, he received his degree from AIMS Community College. He worked as a self-employed floor covering business owner. After retirement, he spent several years enjoying life in Hawaii. He was a member of Greeley/Evans Moose Lodge No. 909.
Mike is survived by 2 brothers, Tim Prybylski of Mojave, CA and Joseph Amicarelli of Sandusky, OH; daughter Christie Hogan and her husband John Hogan of Redondo Beach, CA, and their son Ian; son Ben Prybylski of Evans, CO, and his daughter Aleeyah; son Christopher Prybylski and his wife Rhandee Hubbard of Greeley, CO with 2 sons Camden and Carson and a daughter on the way; daughter Anna Prybylski of Denver, CO; and step-daughter Shae Martinez of Thornton, CO and her 2 children Andrew and Jenna. Mike leaves behind 2 beloved dogs, Loki and Hula.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
