A self-taught musician, beloved father, grandfather and retired machinist, Michael Jordan Ferguson, 78, of Loveland, CO, went into our Savior’s loving arms on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 5:08 AM. He was born June 21, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Thomas and Lurlene (Jordan) Ferguson. Michael moved to Colorado with his family in high school and graduated from Aurora’s Central High School. He later moved to the Los Angeles area to attend college, worked as a baggage handler and ticket agent at Los Angeles International Airport, then met the love of his life Ruth Ann Lines. They were married in 1964 in Clarkfield, Mn. until her passing in early 2000. They moved to Colorado to start a family in 1968. They had one daughter Andrea, born in 1967. Michael worked as a machinist at Gardner Denver and later managed apartment complexes with his wife until his retirement.
Michael had a genuine cowboy spirit. He was an avid fisherman, a gun enthusiast, and was John Wayne’s biggest fan. He was a loving father who taught his daughter all that he knew to help her be an independent woman. He had a wonderful sense of humor and took great pleasure in making people laugh by telling jokes. Michael was a loyal friend and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Michael is survived by his daughter, Andrea (Jeff) Ball and two grandchildren, Aimee Minard and Caitlin Almgren (Spencer). He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann; sisters Lucy Payson and Frances Briscoe; brother Thomas Ferguson as well as parents Thomas and Lurlene.
A celebration of life will be held in his home state of Texas.
“My hope and prayer is that everyone know and love our country for what she really is and what she stands for.”
― John Wayne
