Mary Jane Osaki

She was married to William Osaki on January 27, 1951 in Greeley.

Mary grew up in the rural area in Nebraska and moved to Greeley in February 1944. She graduated from Gill High School in 1945 and later attended Greeley Commercial College.

She worked for 30 years as an executive secretary and a bookkeeper and after 12 years with Union Colony Bank, she retired in March 1992.

Mrs. Osaki enjoyed gardening, cats, crossword puzzles and needlework, but her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughter, Koko.

Always giving to her family, Mary also shared her kind love with many friends. She felt so honored when they called her “Mom” or “Grandma O”. She never forgot someone’s birthday.

She was a member of Greeley Buddhist Temple and was a 25-year member of American Business Women’s Association.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter, Connie Osaki-Hansen of Greeley; two sisters, Hannah Sameshima of Kersey and Agnes Hikida of Buena Park, California; one brother, Kenny Ogata (Shiz) of Oxnard, California; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Mizuno of Oxnard and Mutsu Osaki of Greeley and one grandchildren Koko Hansen of Greeley.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Kato and a brother, Danny Ogata.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at Stoddard Funeral Home.
