Marjorie’s parents were both teachers and the family lived in various places throughout Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado. Marjorie, herself, an aspiring teacher, was a 1948 graduate of Colorado State College in Greeley, Colorado. She married George Patrick Zimmermann on November 4, 1950 in Boulder, Colorado. The couple had a son, Karl, and two daughters, Marjorie Ann and Beverly, the family settled in Greeley in 1955. Marjorie taught in the Wiggins School District as an elementary teacher until her retirement in 1987.
Marjorie was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary #18, The Forty and Eight, and a devoted lifelong member of the First United Presbyterian Church. Marjorie enjoyed traveling, she loved the outdoors and the roughing it on camping trips. She was an avid reader and enjoyed adventure. She loved her family and cherished time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Karl Zimmermann, daughters, Marjorie Ann Fergus and Beverly Jean Dillon, seven grandchildren, fifteen, great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, G. Patrick, her parents, a brother, Dale Tedford and a grandson, Patrick Zimmermann.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Allnutt Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, Colorado, at 9:00 a.m., a Funeral Service, following at 10:00 a.m., and a graveside at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow.
