Maria Alvarado

She grew up in Mexico and later moved her family, settling in Greeley. She was a homemaker. Maria was a happy person. She loved to cook tortillas, enchiladas, and tacos. She was the caretaker of her grandchildren. She was a bible reader and she loved spending time with her family, especially on the holidays. She enjoyed shopping as well as television shows, especially “Todo por mi hija” (Everything for my daughter).

Maria is survived by her daughter, Luz Elena Ortiz Alvarado of Greeley; 3 sons, Javier Ortiz of Greeley, Jose G. Ortiz of Phoenix, Arizona, and Antonio Ortiz (Elizabeth Segura Ortiz) of Evans; and sister, Maria Guadalupe Alvarado Solis of Greeley. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonino; daughter, Socorro Ortiz Alvarado; and grandson, Jesus Miguel Vasquez.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2021 and 12:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2021 followed by Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. all at Stoddard Funeral Home.
